A Fort Worth man was arrested Wednesday in last month’s slaying of Chin “Jin” Shin, who has been described as a “pillar” of the local Asian community.
Markynn West, 28, faces a murder charge in the death of Shin, 43. His bail has not been set and it is unclear whether he has an attorney.
On Aug. 15, Fort Worth police responded to a call about an accident at the intersection of the southbound lanes of South University Drive and Interstate 30 about 2:45 a.m., where officers learned Shin had been shot after an argument escalated into gunfire.
In the days following the shooting, police said they were “interviewing all involved subjects.”
It is unclear what led the department to arrest West, and an arrest-warrant affidavit was not available Wednesday.
